Please read these terms carefully. By downloading, installing, or using Doco Translate, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Doco Translate ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Doco Translate application ("Application" or "App").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Application.

2. Description of Service

Doco Translate is a macOS application that provides:

  • Multiple Language Support: Translate between English, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil & Portugal), Polish, Dutch, Arabic, and more
  • Glossary Management: Create and manage custom terminology for consistent translations
  • Bilingual Display: View original and translated content side by side
  • OCR Capabilities: Extract and translate text from images within documents
  • Multiple Translation Services: Access to various third-party translation services and local translation models
  • PDF Document Translation: Translate PDF documents while preserving layout and formatting

3. User Eligibility

To use Doco Translate, you must:

  • Have a valid Apple ID for App Store purchases and subscriptions
  • Agree to these Terms of Use
  • Have a compatible macOS device
  • Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction)

4. Subscription Plans

4.1 Free Version

The free version of Doco Translate provides basic translation functionality with certain limitations on features and usage.

4.2 Doco Translate Pro

Doco Translate Pro is a subscription service that unlocks additional features and removes limitations. Subscription options include:

  • Yearly Subscription: Billed annually with automatic renewal at a discounted rate
  • Monthly Subscription: Billed monthly with automatic renewal

4.3 Subscription Terms

  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store

4.4 Refunds

All subscription purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple through their standard refund process. We cannot process refunds directly.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Doco Translate only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Share, resell, or redistribute your subscription access to others
  • Use the Application to violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Application
  • Use automated systems or software to extract data from the Application ("scraping")
  • Use the Application in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services
  • Remove or modify any proprietary notices or labels on the Application
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
  • Use the Application to translate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable

6. Third-Party Services

Doco Translate integrates with third-party translation services to provide translation functionality. When using these services:

  • We encourage you to review the terms of service of any third-party services you choose to use
  • Third-party services may be subject to their own usage limits, terms, and pricing
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, quality, or availability of third-party translation services
  • You are also subject to the terms and conditions of the respective third-party service provider

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Application, including its design, features, code, graphics, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Doco Translate and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Application for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to the documents and content you translate using Doco Translate. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

7.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Application, you grant us the right to use such feedback without any obligation to compensate you.

8. Translation Accuracy

Important: Machine translation is not perfect. Translations provided by Doco Translate are automated and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or mistranslations.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • We are not liable for any damages resulting from translation errors or inaccuracies
  • Professional human translation is recommended for important documents
  • The Application should not be used as the sole source for critical, legal, medical, or official translations
  • Translations are provided "as is" without guarantees of accuracy or completeness

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Application in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • The Application is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Doco Translate and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your content or documents processed through the Application
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of the Application

11. Modifications to the Application

We reserve the right to:

  • Change pricing for subscription plans (existing subscribers will be notified in advance)
  • Update the Application to add, modify, or remove features
  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Application at any time

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes but are not obligated to do so.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Application at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination:

  • Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive
  • You must delete all copies of the Application from your devices
  • Your license to use the Application will immediately cease

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by:

  • Providing notice through the Application when appropriate
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page

Your continued use of the Application after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Application shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Doco Translate regarding your use of the Application and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
